Please make plans to join us this year as we kick off the Grafton Black Hawk soccer season with the annual GHS Soccer Alumni Games! The tradition started in 2006 and has been held every year since. The game's goal is to reunite classmates, teammates, friends, and family, as well as to get fans and the program in general excited for the upcoming boys season. Please join us this year on August 12th for the games at Grafton High School. Proceeds from the event will go towards a scholarship in the late Craig Carlson's name.
Carlson, a 2005 graduate from GHS, was one of the greatest players in program history and still ranks in the top five in both career goals scored as well as assists. He went on to star for Carroll University in Waukesha and was a prominent coach for the Grafton Soccer Club's youth teams. Carlson passed away suddenly in July of 2012 at the age of 25 due to a pulmonary embolism. We play these games in his honor. Head coach Don Arnold has stated that no boys player will wear Craig's #7 during the season for as long as he is the head coach at Grafton.
You can order a shirt without playing in the game, just fill out the separate T-shirt order form and send it in along with $20 to Patrick Schmalz. You can also contribute to the scholarship fund the day of the event. We are hoping to sell as many t-shirts as possible to benefit the Craig Carlson scholarship.
